Lucerne marks the return of V8 power to a Buick sedan for the first time in a decade. The 275 horsepower 4.6L Northstar V8 is an all aluminum engine with 32 valves and dual overhead camshafts. The Northstar V8 is standard on CXL V8 and CXS. The award winning 197 horsepower 3800 series III V6 is standard on the CX and CXL V6. Both engines feature electronic throttle control for enhanced responsiveness and efficiency. And both engines provide the refined and effortless power you demand in a premium automobile.

Buicks have always been known for their ultra-smooth ride. Lucerne bolsters that reputation with its standard four-wheel independent suspension, complemented in CXS by standard Magnetic Ride Control. CXS models also feature StabiliTrak with a brake assist feature that detects emergency braking and optimizes breaking at each wheel. Further enhancing Lucerne’s braking performance are standard four-wheel discs with a four-wheel anti-lock braking system.
